Yeti, The Associates & Bad Brains

I still can't figure out podcasting. Here you go though...

Yeti - 's/t'
I just uploaded this to sendspace for my friend Danny Sober who was looking for it, so I figured I would put it up for anyone else who might be interested. Yeti was a black metal band from Florida in the late 90's. We used to go see them in Orlando and they were the real deal, wearing armor and shit. This was their first and only real CD. They put out another demo after this and signed to Pluto Records (yeah figures everything has the Christian connection), but then kinda dropped off the face of the earth after that. Enjoy.

  1. Intro
  2. Foretold Gathering
  3. The Awakening
  4. I Walk Among The Dead
  5. When Darkness Fails To Fall

The Associates - "Even Dogs In The Wild"
I also uploaded my current jam of the week:

Somewhere deep in the night

There's a child on his own
And his pulse isn't there
And the house is aglow
With the light from outside
Well the house is aglow.

There's a mattress downstairs
Full of brown peppered holes
And the horse hair is coarse
Not as coarse and as rough
As the rash thoughts that never heal sores.

Even dogs in the wild,
Even dogs in the wild,
Even dogs in the wild,
Even dogs in the wild,
Even dogs in the wild,
Even dogs in the wild.

Dogs in the wild in the wild
Dogs in the wild in the wild
Dogs in the wild.

Even dogs in the wild
Could do better than this
Even dogs in the wild
Will protect and will care for
Whatever means most to them.

Even dogs in the wild
Could do better than this
Even dogs in the wild
Will care for
Whatever means most to them.

I'm not really sure why I can't stop listening to to this track. The Associates came out of the 80's "new romantics" scene and are defiantly looked over far to much. They wrote stark, minimal pop songs with really great lyrics. Their singer, Billy Mackenzie, committed suicide by overdose in a garden shed. Depressed dudes write great songs.

Bad Brains - "House Of Suffering" (live)
...And if metal or new romanticism isn't your thing here's a sweet video of Bad Brains playing "House Of Suffering" during Daytona Beach Spring Break '88. I wish the Bandshell was still this sweet.
